QUEST/Deteknix W3 Wire free Headphones.
The latest RF 2.4 Wireless Headphones from QUEST/ DETEKNIX. The Wireless W3 headphones are designed to be used on any detector that has a normal headphone jack socket of 3.5mm. Adapters are included to use the transmitter on any 6.35mm detector jack socket also.
( We have the larger Jack plug W6 version on a seperate listing as well as a version for the Garrett AT series of detectors)
If a customer owns the Garrett AT Pro or Gold and also owns a Garrett Ace for instance there are special adapter cables available so that they can plug into either detector using the W3 or W6 normal headsets.
The Foldable headphones have volume control and come in a nice zippered hard case which also holds the tiny transmitter, two USB charging cables and the jack adapters. Two Rubber bands are also included in the kit but a much better way of attaching the transmitter under your detector handle is to use male and female sticky back Velcro strip. As well as being safer its much easier to take your transmitter off and take indoors to charge.
The Transmitter and headphone rechargeable Lithium batteries are both now charged by a mini USB cable like the latest smart phones. Charging normally takes 2 hours. Usable life when fully charged is claimed to be six hours but users are regularly getting 8 hours plus in the field. They can be easily topped up on longer sessions by a quick charge through a car cigarette lighter USB adapter or one of the latest USB charger / battery storers that carry enough power to even charge a deus or several mobile phones. Get a 12v plug that has two USB sockets in it similar to the one people get for using from their mains socket at home. Better to charge two at once while having lunch in the field.
Signal lag is extremely minimal, in fact unnoticeable. Sound reproduction is excellent with this unit as is the build and comfort.
